Amanda Murphy joins Abington Dermatology with 15 years experience as a physician assistant in dermatology. She graduated from University of Delaware with a major in Biology and a minor in Spanish. She received her Masters degree in Physician Assistant studies from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM). Amanda has experience and knowledge treating all areas of skin conditions and disorders, such as acne, warts, rashes, eczema, psoriasis. She also has experience performing skin examinations as well as diagnosing and treating skin cancers.
Educating future PA is also important to Amanda. She lectures to area Physician assistant programs on various dermatologic topics as well as teaches dermatologic procedures, suturing techniques and clinical skill labs. She was recently awarded 2013 Alumnus of the year from Philadelphia college of Osteopathic Medicine due to her involvement in education. Amanda also serves on the board of directors for the alumni association for PCOM
Amanda lives in the area with her husband and three children. She enjoys playing golf and is an avid long distance and marathon runner.
